About Me

Hello, my name is Lindsay Coudert, a student with a strong interest in Cybersecurity and Intelligence. I am currently studying at Edith Cowan University, completing a Bachelor of Counter Terrorism, Security and Intelligence with a major in Cyber Security. Alongside my studies, I actively develop practical skills through Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) practice, and regular attendance at industry events along with being nominated in 2024 for WiTWA's Rising Star in Cyber, Security and Privacy award.

This portfolio showcases my projects, technical development, and ongoing learning journey. I am highly motivated to grow within the cybersecurity field and to collaborate with others. A key highlight includes participation in the Pecan+ 2024 challenge, DOS’ed Out.

I began my cybersecurity journey in July 2023 through TAFE, completing a Certificate IV in Cyber Security, followed by an Advanced Diploma. After graduating, I transitioned into my current bachelor’s degree at ECU, where I became further involved with RedRoom and the ECU Racing Team, contributing to multiple technical and collaborative projects.

Before getting into Cybersecurity I worked with horses from June 2019 to March 2024 after going from WA to QLD and ending up in NSW where I have ended up coming back to WA after deciding that the equine industry wasn't for me. So after ending up in racehorses up in Gingin I decided I really needed to get out and took on the Cert IV in Cyber and later the Advanced Diploma in cyber both at South Metro TAFE where I found my love for DFIR as someone who originally wanting to be a Medical Examiner - different crime scenes, same field.

I have also founded a Capture The Flag team, 418WeAreTeapots, providing a platform for collaborative learning and skill development. While currently in-active, the experience strengthened my leadership and teamwork capabilities however the RedRoom CTF Team at ECU I have been more active in CTF's being the club's Industry Liaison from November 2024 to present as can be seen Here on CASSA's timeline, we eventually split from our parent club in November 2025 where I was proud to be on the first committee to get the club Guild Affiliated. Which was a fantastic effort of the committee at the time

Notable CTF achievements include securing 10th place at the Australian Cybersecurity Games in 2024 with ECU RedRoom, followed by 13th place in the 2025 competition. Additionally, I have participated in the Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN) competitions in 2023, 2024 and 2025, further refining my problem-solving, technical, and communication skills.

So what's next?

Ideally, if all goes to plan ... which we all know doesn't always happen but it would be do an Honours in International Relations and Political Science at Flinders university before moving onto my Masters of Criminology at Murdoch University. But I do have a backup plan as you do not need an Honours to do a Masters.

Another goal of mine would be to do a Bachelor of Forensic Biology, combined with Counter Terrorism, Cyber and a few years work experience would make a really interesting field to look into, considering the changes we are seeing in today's society and the way crime is ever evolving
